(Baonghean.vn) - On June 27, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and TCP Vietnam Company held an award ceremony for the Vietnam women's football team, this is a spiritual encouragement for the Vietnam women's team, before the final round of the 2023 Women's World Cup.
At the event, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team received gifts worth 1 billion VND in cash and 36 gold bars engraved with their names, bearing the personal mark of the players and members of the coaching staff.
This award is to congratulate the excellent female warriors of the Golden Star for setting a new record, becoming the first team to win Gold Medals in 4 consecutive SEA Games, bringing the total number of championships to 8 times.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi - General Secretary of VFF said: "In recent times, Vietnamese women's football has achieved many miracles, including winning the SEA Games Gold Medal for the 4th consecutive time and qualifying for the 2023 World Cup for the first time. The Vietnamese women's team has just returned after 3 weeks of training in Germany.
The friendly match between the German women's team and the Vietnamese women's team also received great attention from the world media. On the journey to the big sea, we will have the opportunity to meet strong teams such as the US, the Netherlands, and Portugal, but nothing can be stronger than the determination and fighting spirit of the women's team. With this source of energy, the Vietnamese golden girls will go further in the upcoming journey."

Talking about the recent training trip, coach Mai Duc Chung shared: “In addition to professional training, we also strengthened our physical strength. In 21 days, the team had 4 friendly matches with quality “blue troops”. Although we lost to U23 Poland or the German women's team, that was not the problem, the important thing was to rub shoulders and gain experience.”
As for Thanh Nha, the young midfielder born in 2001 still felt happy after scoring against the German women's team. "Before the match, my teammates and I told ourselves not to concede too many goals. But after the match, the whole team was determined and played their best to get the best result. Regarding the scoring situation, when I received a counter-attack pass from Van Su, I tried to run up and shoot, at that time I was also afraid of shooting into the sky. This goal is very special to me," Thanh Nha said.
After returning from Europe, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team have 10 more days to train in Hanoi before flying to New Zealand on July 5. In New Zealand, the Vietnamese women's team will play two friendly matches against hosts New Zealand (July 10) and Spain (July 14).
