Vietnam Olympic team suffers losses before confrontation with Iran
(Baonghean.vn) - The Vietnamese Olympic team cannot have its strongest force in the second match at ASIAD 19, when Nham Manh Dung and Tan Tai are having health problems.
Evening of September 20,Vietnam Olympic Teamhas returned to the training ground to prepare for the match with Iran in the second round of Group B of the 19th Asian Games men's football. Because there is only one day to prepare for this important match, coach Hoang Anh Tuan mainly let the players practice recovery exercises and play some games to create a comfortable spirit for the whole team.

Regarding the team's strength, coach Hoang Anh Tuan may not have the service of Nham Manh Dung due to pink eye and Phan Tuan Tai due to Achilles tendonitis. However, he and his colleagues have also prepared plans to be proactive in all situations.
The captain of the Vietnam Olympic team said: “We are ready to prepare for bad situations. For example, in a match, no one knows what will happen. Like a player suddenly getting a red card. Our team has few experienced players like Nham Manh Dung, Phan Tuan Tai, etc. Unfortunately, in the force majeure situation, we are forced to accept and have an alternative plan. Actually, we have no other choice. We have to use our existing team. This team has been practicing together for a long time.”

It is known that after the first match against Mongolia, the coaching staff held a meeting to review the players' experiences and plan for the match against Olympic Iran which will take place tonight (September 21).
Coach Hoang Anh Tuan shared: “Maybe I am a bit of a perfectionist. But with my players, especially the young players, we need to make serious adjustments. In the victory over Mongolia, the difference was a certain distance, but the players still made some unnecessary mistakes. We had a meeting with the coaching staff and the players to remind and make some adjustments. Because today's opponent of Vietnam is completely different. Iran is ranked 22nd in the FIFA rankings, Vietnam is very far behind. We need to be very careful, learn from experience and immediately correct the simplest mistakes made in the match against Mongolia.”

Compared to Mongolia, Vietnam's opponent Iran is on a completely different level. In terms of tactics, coach Hoang Anh Tuan has certainly done research to find the most suitable response. However, the Vietnam Olympic team will still maintain the playing style that has been shaped throughout the national team and the youth team.
He affirmed: “We will definitely still play with ball control, but against a strong opponent like Iran, the time will be less. The core thing we aim for is the player force, creating conditions for all young players to enter the field. Regarding the playing style, of course, against a strong opponent, the time to control the ball as we want is not easy. I encourage, support and remind the players to do the best they can. Of course, the result of the match is also very important. But the style of play we have defined, we must try to do our best.”
The goal that coach Hoang Anh Tuan set for his students. “Our goal is to get points against Iran. As for the result, we will all wait and see,” coach Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized.
The match between the Vietnam Olympic team and the Iran Olympic team will take place at 6:30 p.m. today (September 21) Vietnam time./.
