Vietnam rowing team reports good news, bright chance of competing for Asian Games medal
On the first day of competition at the 19th Asiad, Vietnamese rowing athletes entered the finals of the women's 4-scull heavyweight 1-oar event and the semi-finals of the women's 2-scull heavyweight 1-oar event.
Along with men's football, rowing is one of the earliest sports ofAsian Games 19On the morning of September 20, good news continuously came from the Vietnamese rowing team.
After rowers Pham Thi Thao and Nguyen Thi Giang won the right to enter the semi-finals of the women's 2-scull heavyweight 1-oar category, Vietnamese rowing continued to compete impressively in the women's 4-scull heavyweight 1-oar category.
Specifically, the four rowers Dinh Thi Hao, Du Thi Bong, Ha Thi Vui, and Pham Thi Hue ranked third with a time of 6 minutes 39 seconds 89. The Chinese team ranked first with a time of 6 minutes 33 seconds 40 and Japan ranked second with a time of 6 minutes 38 seconds 05.
Since the women's 4-scull event only has 6 competing countries (China, Japan, Thailand, India, Hong Kong-China, Thailand and Vietnam), after the qualifying round, all teams will be able to compete in the final. The final will take place at 9:50 a.m. on September 24 at the Fuyang Aquatics Complex.
With only 1 second behind the second qualifying team Japan, the Vietnamese rowing team has a very high chance of competing for the Silver Medal. Of the 4 Vietnamese rowers, Pham Thi Hue and Dinh Thi Hao won the Silver Medal at the 2018 Asian Games in this event.
This morning (September 20), the Vietnamese sports delegation left for Hangzhou (China). At the 19th Asian Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation competed with 504 members, including 337 athletes, aiming to win 2-5 gold medals in the following sports: sepak takraw, cycling, weightlifting, karate, shooting, archery, and chess.
