Vietnam national team gathers, Song Lam Nghe An Club contributes only one name

Unlike the U23 team, which includes many players who were students of coach Philippe Troussier at the Vietnam U19 team in the 2019-2020 period, the Vietnam national team players have not had the opportunity to work with the French strategist. Therefore, the main purpose of this training session of the Vietnam national team is to create an opportunity for head coach Philippe Troussier to create connections with the team players and introduce the football philosophy and playing style that he will apply to the team in the near future.

As shared on the day he officially took over the position of head coach of the Vietnam National Team, the French coach prioritized calling up all the players who participated in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 and did not rush to give opportunities to new faces.

However, this list does not include midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai and striker Nguyen Van Toan because the duo are playing abroad. In return, coach Philippe Troussier has chosen Nguyen Hai Huy, the midfielder who was not on the final list of 23 players of the Vietnam National Team to participate in the regional arena in 2022.

According to the plan, the Vietnam National Team will gather from March 8 to March 12 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. Because the time of the Vietnam National Team's gathering coincides with the second training phase of the Vietnam U23 Team in March, coach Phillippe Troussier also plans to organize an internal match between the two teams to observe and evaluate the positions.
