Doctor Choi Ju-young assessed that Nguyen Hoang Duc had fully recovered, so he was allowed by coach Park Hang-seo to practice with his teammates. In addition to the warm-up, the Viettel midfielder also passed the normal physical test and tactical practice.
Hoang Duc suffered a broken foot bone in a collision with Tran Minh Vuong on May 15. According to the initial diagnosis, it would take him more than a week to return. However, his good physical condition and the personal care of Dr. Choi helped him recover faster, taking only five days to return.

Hoang Duc's return helps coach Park Hang-seo have enough players to practice for the first time, preparing for the remaining three matches of Group G of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Previously, the team welcomed the return of Nguyen Trong Hoang, Doan Van Hau, Le Van Xuan, Nguyen Quang Hai and Luong Xuan Truong.
Vietnam is currently leading Group G with 11 points and will face Indonesia on June 7, Malaysia on June 11 and the host team on June 15. Vietnam's matches will all take place at 11:45 p.m. Hanoi time.
Thanh Hoa determined to "imprison" Hoang Vu Samson
Earlier this week, SLNA Club representatives went to Thanh Hoa to ask to borrow Hoang Vu Samson. However, Thanh Hoa leaders refused with the reason "internal matters have not been resolved yet".
Coach Ljupko Petrovic and the leadership of Thanh Hoa Club commented that Samson played abnormally, missing many scoring opportunities and often playing violently as if he was trying to "get a card". Therefore, they internally punished the striker born in 1988, sent him to practice with the reserve team and did not register to play.

Samson - the player with the most goals in V-League history - then sent a petition to VFF accusing the team of owing him March salary, and at the same time declared that "if anything happens to me, it will be Thanh Hoa Club", implying that the team could use gangsters to threaten him. This pushed the relationship between Samson and the team to the peak of tension.
Thanh Hoa also sent an official dispatch to VFF, requesting clarification of Samson's accusations. VFF then asked the naturalized striker to provide evidence but has not received a response.
Thanh Hoa still allows Samson to go to the training ground with his teammates, but he is not allowed to participate in the tactical part. The Thanh Hoa team will most likely let the Nigerian striker "sit and watch" until the end of September, when his contract expires. The club's leadership will only consider letting Samson leave if he apologizes and tells the truth about the collision between him and the team.
Malaysian player wants to make history

"Despite the difficult situation, the whole team will still try their best to focus on each match. We will fight to win the maximum 9 points to hopefully make history," the New Straits Times quoted Brendan Gan in a post on the morning of May 21.

Coach Tan Cheng Hoe's team had only less than a week to prepare at home. Many players were a bit worried after a long time without playing internationally. According to Brendan Gan, this was the biggest difficulty for him and his teammates. However, he believes that the Malaysian team has reason to be optimistic as they are second in Group G, and are led by a talented strategist. "The head coach always has creative solutions," said Brendan Gan.
Malaysia will have two friendly matches to warm up, against Tajikistan (May 25) and Oman (May 29). After that, coach Tan Cheng Hoe will finalize the list of players participating in the last 3 matches of Group G of the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup. The team aims to win a ticket to the final qualifying round of a World Cup for the first time.
