Vietnam team is happy in the first training session in Tajikistan

On the afternoon of March 25, Coach Huu Thang and his team had a practice session on the artificial turf in Tajikistan, to prepare for the match against Afghanistan on March 28.

Spending the whole morning resting after the long flight and enjoying a delicious lunch together, coach Nguyen Huu Thang and his team have fully recovered their physical condition. The first training session on the afternoon of March 25th therefore went smoothly in a very exciting atmosphere filled with laughter.

Xuan Truong chatted with his senior Minh Tuan - a player who joined the Vietnam team late due to being busy with the make-up match of round 9 of V.League 2017.

Having prepared mentally for the match on an artificial pitch, the Vietnamese team's coaching staff was very proactive in planning the exercises.

Basically, the training program is not much different from training on natural grass, but to make the most of the flatness and smoothness of the artificial pitch, Coach Nguyen Huu Thang has focused on training exercises with low, fast, and low-touch ball combinations.

This is also the team's familiar playing style and coach Nguyen Huu Thang was pleased when his players adapted very quickly to the new environment.

According to coach Nguyen Huu Thang, the quality of the training ground is quite good, the artificial turf is even better than expected, not causing many obstacles for the players. The quality of the artificial turf of the main stadium is certainly superior to the training ground, so the coaching staff is completely assured to prepare for the match with Afghanistan on March 28.

Van Toan and Van Thanh were the main players in the match against Taiwan (China). The two players born in 1996 of HAGL showed clear progress after 2 years playing in V.League.

Xuan Truong was playful and laughed happily when he returned to play for the national team. The midfielder from Tuyen Quang shared when he returned home on March 19: "Playing with my Vietnamese teammates is still the best thing."

Xuan Truong is the player with the highest passing accuracy rate in the Vietnam team.

In the afternoon training session on March 25, the group of players who had to make up for the 9th round of V.League, including Van Quyet, Minh Tuan and Duy Manh, were arranged by the coaching staff to practice with a lighter load than their teammates. They only participated in warm-up exercises, ball games and then jogging. Tomorrow (March 26), the team will practice both morning and afternoon. However, based on the reality, the coaching staff may have to make appropriate adjustments.

The match between Afghanistan and Vietnam will take place at 9pm on March 28 (Vietnam time) at the neutral Pamir Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan (due to security concerns at Afghanistan's home stadium). The match will be exclusively broadcast by K+, along with pre-match, mid-match and post-match commentary programs.
