The skilled people here said that the tools to set the trap for the clams are quite simple, just need a plastic bottle with the mouth cut off, and the bait to trap the clams includes fragrant rice bran and fresh shrimp, then mix this mixture into the mouth of the plastic tube and place it scattered along the river bank. When the clams go out to find food, they smell the rice bran and shrimp and fall into the trap, unable to get out. Each time, more than 300 plastic bottles are set, and after 2-3 hours, they return to "harvest".

From hunting and trapping crabs with simple plastic traps, farmers can earn millions of dong every day.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoi (in village 7, Cam Vinh commune, Cam Xuyen, Ha Tinh) said: "Currently, I have nearly 1,000 traps made of plastic bottles. This year, clams are also available. The output and price are stable, so I earn millions of dong every day."

Every day at noon or in the afternoon, traders come to the house to buy, each kg of clams is purchased by the owners of the establishments at a price ranging from 30,000 - 35,000 VND/kg. It is known that in addition to direct consumption on the spot, clams are also packed in mesh bags and transported by car to sell to clam sauce processing establishments in the northern provinces.
