Hoang Mai Town: Commending outstanding farmers in production and business.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 15, 2014, at the meeting hall of Quynh Thien ward, the Farmers' Association of Hoang Mai town held a conference to summarize the movement of farmers competing in excellent production and business (NDTĐSXKDG), solidarity, mutual assistance to get rich and sustainable poverty reduction in the period 2012-2014, and to implement tasks and solutions for organizing the movement of farmers competing in excellent production and business in the period 2014-2016.

Attending the event were Comrade Vo Van Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee; Comrade Le Sy Chien, Member of the Standing Committee - Vice Chairman of the Town People's Committee; and 30 delegates representing over 1,430 outstanding farmer-entrepreneurs at all levels in the town.

Overview of the conference

The movement for "Excellent Farmers in Production and Business," promoting solidarity and mutual assistance for wealth creation and sustainable poverty reduction, is one of the three major movements launched by the Central Farmers' Association. It has attracted a large number of cadres, members, and farmers throughout the town to participate. As a result, in the period 2012-2014, the percentage of farmer households achieving the title of "Excellent in Production and Business" compared to registered households reached 53.3%. To date, the entire town has 1,430 farmer households achieving the title of "Excellent in Production and Business" at various levels, with incomes ranging from 2.5 million VND to over 6.5 million VND per person per month (an increase of 505 households compared to 2012), including 18 households at the central level; 62 households at the provincial level; 213 households at the town level; and 1,137 households at the commune/ward level. The number of households with incomes exceeding 150 million VND has tripled. Households with an income exceeding 1 billion VND per year have increased 1.5 times compared to the 2010-2012 period.

Comrade Le Sy Chien - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the town - presented certificates of commendation to individuals who achieved outstanding results in the "excellent production and business" movement during the period 2012 - 2014.

Support services for farmers have been strengthened, with 21 vocational training classes opened for 660 people, 96 technical training courses organized for 1,096 participants; in coordination with banks, 86.8 billion VND was disbursed to over 5,029 members and farmers for loans; and credit guarantees were provided to companies supplying 930 tons of various fertilizers on a deferred payment basis for member households and farmers to develop production. Eleven demonstration models applying scientific and technical advancements were built, and 15 field conferences and workshops were organized, helping farmers participate in many production, livestock, crop, aquaculture, and seafood processing models that yield high economic efficiency, thereby helping farmers earn incomes ranging from 500 million to 1,100 million VND per household per year...

On this occasion, the People's Committee of the town awarded certificates of commendation to 3 collectives and 6 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the "excellent production and business" movement during the period 2012 - 2014.
