Thai Hoa Town summarizes its defense and security work for 2011.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 11th, Thai Hoa Town held a conference to summarize national defense and security work in 2011 and to implement tasks for 2012. Attending and directing the conference were Colonel Nguyen Dinh Dung – Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, and Colonel Cao Huy Luong – Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command.
In 2011, the armed forces of Thai Hoa town closely coordinated in carrying out combat readiness and crime prevention tasks, clarifying 44 criminal cases. Most notably, they cracked 3 drug trafficking cases, arresting and prosecuting 20 individuals for illegal drug trafficking and seizing 48.2g of heroin; cracked 3 motorcycle theft cases, arresting 7 suspects and recovering 39 motorcycles, which were returned to their owners. During the investigation, the suspects confessed to committing a total of 45 thefts throughout the province; discovered 2 cases of transporting and storing fireworks, seizing 12 kg of fireworks; and handled 12,241 cases of road traffic law violations, directly fining 12,117 cases and collecting over 1,302 million VND for the state budget.

Colonel Nguyen Dinh Dung – Deputy Director of the Provincial Police – presented the Prime Minister's commendation certificates to two officers.
In addition, the armed forces have done well in recruitment, building safe and self-reliant localities, agencies, and units ready for combat; building a national defense posture; participating in flood and storm prevention, forest fire prevention, and helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and stabilize their lives.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister awarded certificates of merit to 2 individuals; the Ministry of Public Security awarded a banner of emulation to 1 collective; the Provincial Military Command awarded a banner of emulation for decisive victory to 1 collective; the Provincial People's Committee awarded banners of emulation to 2 collectives; the Provincial Police awarded certificates of merit to 3 collectives and 3 individuals for outstanding achievements in the nationwide movement to protect national security; the Provincial Military Command awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 6 individuals. The People's Committee of Thai Hoa town awarded certificates of merit to 17 collectives and 17 individuals for outstanding achievements in performing local military and national defense tasks in 2011.
