Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed on the morning of December 8, 2023 at banks as follows:

At Vietcombank, the buying rate is 161.25 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 170.69 VND/JPY, up 1.01 VND for buying and 1.06 VND for selling. At Vietinbank, the Yen rate increased 2.52 VND for buying and selling, equivalent to 163.05 VND/JPY and 172.75 VND/JPY. At BIDV, the Japanese Yen rate increased 0.72 VND for buying and 0.74 VND for selling, reaching 157.48 VND/JPY and 165.75 VND/JPY, respectively. At Agribank, the buying and selling rates are 158.80 VND/JPY and 163.74 VND/JPY, up 0.45 VND for buying and 0.48 VND for selling, respectively.

According to data from Oilprice, at 8:54 p.m. on December 7 (Vietnam time), Brent oil price was trading at $75.29/barrel, up $0.99, or 1.33%, compared to the previous session. WTI oil price was at $70.28/barrel, up $0.90, or 1.3%, compared to the previous session.

Although oil prices are on the rise, analysts say there are not many factors to support oil prices. The rise in oil prices may be due to heavy selling in recent times. Therefore, the recovery of oil prices is only short-term.

In the domestic market, the selling price of gasoline and oil today, December 8, is applied according to the price level at the management session on the afternoon of December 7 of the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade.

Accordingly, gasoline prices are being managed by the inter-ministerial committee in a downward direction, in which RON 95 gasoline continues to decrease for the fourth consecutive time.

Specifically, the price of E5 gasoline decreased by 500 VND/liter, selling price is 21,290 VND/liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline decreased by 670 VND/liter, selling price is not higher than 22,320 VND/liter. The price of diesel oil decreased by 470 VND/liter, down to 19,720 VND/liter. The price of kerosene decreased by 190 VND/liter, selling price is 20,920 VND/liter.
