Competition rate for specialized classes at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted in 2020

By this afternoon (July 8), Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted had received 1,379 applications from candidates applying to the school, more than 100 applications more than last year. In the remaining classes, the number of applications is concentrated in the Natural Science classes. Of which, the Math specialized class has 184 applications, the Chemistry specialized class has 170 applications, the Physics specialized class has 147 applications, the Biology specialized class has 126 applications and the Computer Science specialized class (Math exam) has 44 applications and 24 applications (Information exam).

Meanwhile, in the Social Science classes, apart from the Literature class, the number of applications for the remaining classes is not too large. Of which, the Geography class has 57 applications, the History class has 56 applications, the French class has 34 applications and the Russian class has 83 applications.

Previously, according to the plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee, in the 2020-2021 school year, the school had 455 enrollment targets, including 385 targets for 11 specialized classes: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, French and Russian. All specialized classes, each class has a maximum of 35 students.

This year, candidates will only take one specialized subject, the scores for the remaining subjects will be taken from the 10th grade entrance exam.

Regarding specialized subjects, candidates taking the exam for a specialized class will take the corresponding specialized subject. For the Computer Science specialized class, candidates can take the Math or Computer Science exam, while candidates taking the Russian specialized class will take the English specialized subject.
