According to the survey byABC/Washington Postconducted and released yesterday, 60% of respondents said they were dissatisfied with the performance of US President Donald Trump. This is the lowest level ever during his term and also the first time the level of public dissatisfaction has exceeded 50%. In addition, 53% of survey participants said they were deeply dissatisfied with Trump's performance in the White House.
The poll also found that a majority of respondents supported special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian collusion with the Trump campaign to interfere in the 2016 US election. They also said Trump should not fire Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Only 36% of respondents said they approved of President Trump’s job performance.
The poll results came just 10 days after Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign manager, was convicted of tax and bank fraud. On the same day, Michael Cohen, Trump's former lawyer, also pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations, using hush money to "silence" women who said Trump had sexual relationships with them.
On the issue of Trump's impeachment, the American people's opinions are quite divided. 49% of survey participants said Trump should be removed from the White House while 46% believe that such a scenario should not happen.
