President Trump's approval rating compared to previous presidents 2 weeks before the election
With just two weeks to go until Election Day on November 3, Mr. Trump's approval rating is higher than that of recent one-term presidents at the same point, but still lower than all two-term presidents.
According to a FiveThirtyEight poll, Trump's current approval rating isPresident Trumpis 42.7%. Meanwhile, a Gallup poll conducted from September 14 to 28 surveyed 1,023 adults in the US, showing that the White House owner received 46% support from voters.
While those numbers are higher than those of the last two one-term presidents, former President George H.W. Bush and former President Jimmy Carter, they are still lower than those of two-term presidents, according to Gallup data.

Barack Obama

Mr. Obama won the White House race eight years ago, winning 332 electoral votes and nearly 5 million more popular votes than his opponent Mitt Romney.
George W. Bush

George W. Bush won with 286 electoral votes and more than 3 million popular votes.
Bill Clinton
In his second re-election bid in 1996, formerPresident Bill Clintonreceived 54% support from voters, one of the highest numbers in recent years.
Mr. Clinton won nearly 8 million popular votes and 379 electoral votes to continue his second term in the White House.
George HW Bush

Jimmy Carter
One-term presidentJimmy Carterreceived lower approval ratings than Mr. Trump in his second re-election bid, with only 37% of voters supporting him.
Mr. Carter lost to Mr. Reagan, winning only 49 electoral votes compared to the overwhelming 489 votes of the 40th President of the United States.
