The world's richest billionaire Bill Gates produces clean meat
The world's richest billionaire Bill Gates has invested in a new technology to produce meat from self-reproducing animal cells.
According to Bloomberg news agency, along with billionaire Bill Gates investing in the clean meat company called Memphis Meats, there are also Cargill Inc., one of the world's largest global agricultural companies, British billionaire Richard Branson, and several other investors.

“I am thrilled to be investing in Memphis Meats,” Branson wrote in an email response to questions from Bloomberg News.
“I believe that in about 30 years, we will no longer need to slaughter any animals. And all the meat we consume will be clean or plant-based, which will taste the same and be healthier for everyone.”
This is the latest move by a giant agricultural corporation like Cargill to respond to the growing demands of consumers, especially the younger generation.
Demand for organic products is on the rise, with consumers increasingly valuing foods that are considered sustainable and paying more attention to animal treatment.
In such a context, major meat and poultry processing companies have started offering alternatives to traditional meat products.
“The world loves to eat meat, and it is a core part of many cultures and traditions,” Uma Valeti, co-founder and CEO of Memphis Meats, said in a statement.
“The way conventional meat is produced today poses challenges for the environment, animal welfare and human health. These are issues that everyone wants to solve.”
Memphis Meats has raised $22 million, which the company says represents its commitment to the “clean meat movement.”
“The investment in Memphis Meats brings Cargill into a non-traditional meat market and allows us to work together to accelerate innovation and commercialization,” said Sonya Roberts, president of venture capital at Cargill Protein.
However, this is not the first time a traditional agricultural company has invested in new ways of producing meat.
Last December, America's largest meat producer, Tyson Foods Inc., invested in plant-based protein company Beyond Meat.
The world's richest billionaire is also one of the earliest investors in this company.
