Jet Li, the film's general director, shared on Sina that he thanked Jack Ma for taking the time to participate in the project to promote traditional Chinese martial arts. "We hope to use a new form to introduce to the world traditional Chinese cultural and philosophical ideas," said Jet Li.

The film is scheduled to premiere in November - after Alibaba founder's visit to Vietnam. All actors participating in the project do not receive any salary.

Jack Ma learned Tai Chi from master Wang Xi'an - the 19th generation successor of Chen Shi Tai Chi.
