U19 Australia calls up young Everton star to compete with U19 Vietnam

Although there are still 4 days left for the teams participating in the 2018 AFC U19 Championship to finalize their player lists with the Organizing Committee, at the present time, U19 Australia - the team in the same group as U19 Vietnam - has already announced 23 names to compete in Indonesia.

The “Little Kangaroos” (the nickname of the U19 Australia) have just finished their training session in Sunshine Coast, Southeast Queensland and have arrived in Singapore today (October 7). They will meet Johor Darul Ta'zim on October 11 and play U21 Singapore 4 days later before flying to Indonesia.

With the goal of reaching the semi-finals to get a ticket to the 2019 U20 World Cup in Poland, U19 Australia has called up a very strong force. In addition to the young faces who are worthy of playing for the top clubs in the country, coach Ante Milicic also added 6 players to the list playing in England, Germany and the Netherlands.

Ouzounidis is a product of the Everton Academy.

Standing out among these 6 names is center back Con Ouzounidis, who is playing for Everton U23 in the English U23 Premier League. This player, born in 1999, is a product of the Everton Football Academy.

According to Everton's homepage, Ouzounidis is very strong in one-on-one situations. Defender Funes Mori (Argentinian international who used to play for Everton) himself confirmed that Ouzounidis is a promising young talent.

In this tournament, U19 Australia is in the same group with U19 teams Korea, Vietnam and Jordan. Of course, their goal is to be one of the top two positions in the group to qualify for the next round. With a high-class and experienced squad, Australia will be a huge challenge for U19 Vietnam of coach Hoang Anh Tuan.
