In the opening match of the 2022 National U19 Finals, U19 SLNA had a minimal 1-0 victory over U19 Dong Thap. With this victory, coach Dinh Van Dung and his team earned 3 points and temporarily ranked 2nd in Group B.
Meanwhile, U19 Hanoi is considered to be in good form. In the opening match, the Capital Club had a big 6-1 victory over U19 Binh Dinh. Therefore, this match is considered the key match to decide the top position in this group.
The starting lineup of U19 SLNA did not have many changes compared to the match against Dong Thap. On the right wing, as usual, is Ho Van Cuong. This is the midfielder who just received the title of best player in the opening match. In addition, there are other quite prominent players such as central defender Trinh Hoang Canh, midfielder Nguyen Van Bach, striker Phan Xuan Hao...
Considering this was a crucial match in Group B, both teams started cautiously. The ball was mainly circulated in the midfield area and there were not many high-impact passes.
In this match, U19 SLNA used a 4-2-3-1 tactical formation. This way of playing is to ensure the solidity in the midfield area that coach Dinh Van Dung wants his students to perform. Because in the opening match, Hanoi showed quite diverse attacking power. And if U19 SLNA cannot control the midfield area, it is very easy to receive a bad result when the match ends. By applying the above reasonable tactics, in more than half of the first half, U19 SLNA was the team with better ball control time. However, due to the tight playing style of the two teams, not many opportunities were created on either side of each other's goal.
After the probing process, in the last minutes of the first half, U19 Hanoi increased the attack tempo. The capital team had more attacks from the two wings, then came up with options such as crossing or passing back to the second line. This way of playing partly put pressure on Chu Van Tan's goal.
The mobility and flexibility in each position of U19 Hanoi has caused many difficulties for coach Dinh Van Dung's defense. To overcome this, U19 SLNA chose a close-quarters playing style, concentrating the majority in the home field, to create solidity against the opponent's smooth playing style.
The first half ended, revealing the strength of U19 Hanoi compared to the rest of Group B. The Capital team showed the balance in all 3 lines and a highly unpredictable playing style. Also in this half, SLNA's attack did not leave much of an impression. Coach Dinh Van Dung's team mainly focused on defense.
In the first minutes of the second half, the Nghe An team entered the match with greater determination. Coach Dinh Van Dung's team boldly pushed up the formation to look for opportunities. The right wing attacker named Ho Van Cuong had many moves to exploit the gap between the opponent's center back and defender. However, in the final moves, SLNA still did not show the high level of change to be able to bring about a change on the scoreboard.
During the second half, although both teams tried to push up their formation, neither wanted to leave the field empty-handed, so not many opportunities were created.
The match ended 0-0 which was a fair reflection of the performance of both teams in this match.
On March 29, U19 SLNA will meet U19 Binh Dinh. This is the decisive match for the Nghe An team to advance./.
