U19 Song Lam Nghe An falls into a difficult group at the 2023 National U19 Finals
(Baonghean.vn) - In the final round of the 2023 National U19 Championship, U19 Song Lam Nghe An is in the same group with U19 Dong A Thanh Hoa, U19 Dong Thap and U19 Binh Duong. This is considered a difficult group when Dong Thap and Binh Duong are both leading in the qualifying round groups.
April 21, in Tay Ninh Organizing CommitteeNational U19 Championshiporganized a draw to divide the groups for the 12 teams participating in the final round. The 12 teams include Viettel, Hanoi, Thanh Hoa (group A), Da Nang, Song Lam Nghe An (group B), Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa (group C), Becamex Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, host Tay Ninh (group D), Dong Thap and An Giang (group E).
These 12 teams will be divided into 3 groups to compete in a round-robin tournament to determine rankings, selecting the 6 first and second-placed teams from 3 groups and the 2 third-placed teams with the best results to compete in the quarter-finals. The group stage will be from April 22 to 27; the quarter-finals will be played over 2 days (April 29 and 30); the semi-finals will take place on May 2 and the final will take place on May 4.

According to the draw results, U19 Song Lam Nghe An is in a group consisting of U19 Dong A Thanh Hoa, U19 Dong Thap and U19 Binh Duong. This is considered a difficult group for U19 Song Lam Nghe An. Because at the end of the qualifying round, U19 Binh Duong played excellently and won the first place in group D; meanwhile, Dong Thap also won 15 points and won group E; in addition, in the qualifying round, Thanh Hoa was in the same group with two very strong teams, Hanoi and Viettel, and they only ranked 3rd but had a very high score (19 points). Therefore, it can be affirmed that this is a group consisting of teams with relatively equal strength, to overcome this group is not easy for the Nghe team.
In the 2023 National U19 qualifying round, U19 Song Lam Nghe An is in Group B, including U19 Da Nang, host U19 PVF, U19 Hue and U19 Nam Dinh.
At the end of the group stage, U19 Song Lam Nghe An got 14 points with 4 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses. The host PVF also had the same number of points but lost in terms of head-to-head record. Therefore, U19 Song Lam Nghe An won 2nd place in Group B, thereby, being present in the final round of the 2023 National U19 Tournament.
