The hero of U19 Vietnam in this match was striker Tran Thanh. The Hue-born player headed in the only goal in the 12th minute, after a cross from the right wing by his teammate.

The U19 KBZ Bank Cup includes hosts Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and U19 Consadole Sapporo Club (Japan). The teams will compete in a round robin. The two teams with the highest scores will compete in the final match for the Championship Cup, while the two teams with the lowest scores will compete for third place.

This training tournament is an opportunity for the teams to prepare for the Southeast Asian U19 Championship taking place in Hanoi from September 11 to September 25. This is also the first step in preparation for coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team towards the final round of the Asian U19 Championship in October in Bahrain.

Facing U19 Thailand this afternoon, U19 Vietnam only had one significant dangerous situation, which was Tran Thanh's tricky header to open the score.

After conceding a goal, U19 Thailand attacked relentlessly. However, in the rest of the first half, they were unable to create a truly overwhelming situation against U19 Vietnam. The most notable situation that the young players from the Golden Temple country created was a free kick that missed the post at the end of the first half.

After the break, U19 Thailand pressed U19 Vietnam back to their own half. They created many dangerous situations, but their shots were inaccurate or were blocked by the U19 Vietnam goalkeeper. Once, U19 Thailand managed to put the ball into the U19 Vietnam net, but the goal was not recognized due to an offside.

The 1-0 victory gives U19 Vietnam a chance to win one of the two tickets to the final match. Their next opponent is U19 Myanmar, in the match taking place at 6pm on August 24.
