France U20 and Uruguay U20 have secured their places in the U20 World Cup final after defeating Ghana U20 and Iraq U20 respectively in the semi-finals.

Before the semi-finals, the French U20 team was considered the strongest contender for the championship after the shock defeat of the Spanish U20 team, who had to sadly bow out in the quarter-finals after losing to Uruguay U20.

However, against a physically strong Ghana side, France faced considerable difficulties. It wasn't until the 43rd minute that Florian Thauvin was able to score past Eric Antwi, giving France U20 a 1-0 lead.

But just two minutes into the second half, Ghana U20 surprised France with an equalizer from Ebenezer Assifuah. This was also the striker's fifth goal at this year's U20 World Cup.

Following that goal, the French U20 team pushed forward into the opponent's half, and Florian Thauvin became the hero for "Les Bleus," completing a brace that sent France into the final, despite them later having to play with 10 men due to Samuel Umtiti's red card.

Having secured their place in the final, France U20's next opponent will be Uruguay U20, who came from behind to defeat Iraq U20 in a tense penalty shootout. Iraq took the lead in the first half after a free kick from Ali Adnan. However, Gonzalo Bueno's volley in the final minutes helped Uruguay equalize, sending the match to a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.

In the penalty shootout, midfielder Salif Salman missed the decisive penalty after each team missed one. As a result, Uruguay U20 won the shootout 7-6 and advanced to the final.
