U21 Song Lam Nghe An is in an "easy" group at the 2025 National U21 Finals
On the morning of July 16, the draw ceremony for the 2025 National U21 Championship Finals was held at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). According to the draw results, U21 Song Lam Nghe An fell into group A with the following teams: host U21 Ho Chi Minh City Football Club, U21 SHB Da Nang and U21 PVF-CAND. This is considered a relatively "easy" group.
This year's final round brings together the 12 best teams after passing the qualifying round, including: Host U21 Ho Chi Minh City Football Club, U21 SHB Da Nang, U21 PVF-CAND, U21 Song Lam Nghe An, Tay Ninh, PVF, Ho Chi Minh City, The Cong Viettel, Dak Lak, Hanoi, LPBank HAGL, Dong Thap.
The teams are divided into 3 groups, playing a round robin, and calculating rankings. The 8 best teams, including 3 group winners, 3 second-place teams, and 2 third-place teams with the best records, will qualify for the quarter-finals.
Among the three groups, group A is considered "lighter" than groups B and C, without the presence of formidable candidates such as U21 Hanoi, U21 The Cong Viettel or U21 PVF. Both U21 SHB Da Nang and U21 PVF-CAND are equal opponents, while the host U21 Ho Chi Minh City has the home field advantage but is not rated too highly in terms of expertise.

At that stage, coach Pham Anh Tuan's team competed in group B and achieved an unbeaten record after 4 matches, with 2 wins and 2 draws, thereby gaining 8 points and ranking second in the group, just behind U21 PVF.
The final round will take place in Ba Ria ward, Ho Chi Minh City. In the opening match on the afternoon of July 19, U21 Song Lam Nghe An will face the home team U21 Ho Chi Minh City Football Club. This is a favorable opportunity for coach Pham Anh Tuan and his team to have a smooth start, creating psychological momentum before facing the two remaining opponents.
