U22 Vietnam in the same group with U22 Thailand at SEA Games 32

The SEA Games 32 football draw ceremony took place at 3:00 p.m. on April 5 at Morodok Techo National Stadium (Phnom Penh).

U22 Vietnam is in Group B with U22 Thailand at SEA Games 32.

“The draw was conducted in the presence of consultants from the Asian Football Confederation, and each team was placed into groups based on their rankings from previous SEA Games,” said Keo Sareth, Secretary General of the Football Federation of Cambodia.

Except for Brunei, which did not participate, 10 teams including Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Timor Leste, Philippines and Laos were divided into 2 groups A - B, each group had 5 teams.

According to the draw results, U22 Vietnam is in group B with strong opponents such as U22 Thailand, U22 Malaysia, U22 Singapore and U22 Laos.

At the tournament held 1 year ago in Hanoi, U22 Vietnam and U22 Thailand were the 2 teams that reached the final match. Nham Manh Dung's precious goal helped coach Park Hang-seo and his team successfully defend the SEA Games Gold Medal.

Group A will include host Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines and East Timor. In this group, U22 Indonesia is rated the highest.

At the 32nd SEA Games, the host country Cambodia limited the age of U22 (born from January 1, 2001 onwards), compared to the previous regulation, there were 3 players over age and U23 age.

According to the schedule, Group A of the SEA Games men's football will take place from April 29, while Group B will kick off on April 30. Group A will be played at Morodok Techo Stadium. Group B will be played at Prince Stadium, which has a capacity of 15,000 spectators.

The women's football matches at the 32nd SEA Games will take place from May 2-15 at RSN Stadium and Army Stadium. At the 32nd SEA Games, there are 9 national women's football teams competing, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
