U22 Vietnam defeated Cambodia in the third place match of the Southeast Asian tournament.

Coach Nguyen Quoc Tuan's students proactively pushed up their attacking formation right after the opening whistle. Instead of performing their usual passing moves, U22 Vietnam made many crosses from both wings towards Danh Trung's position, but striker number 19 could not take advantage.

On the U22 Cambodia side, the home team showed their tenacity with a solid defensive play. Sin Kakada and Sin Sophanat had several chances to threaten Ye Li Nie's goal but could not score. The first half ended without any goals being scored.

The initiative still belonged to U22 Vietnam in the second half. They created many opportunities but the red-shirted strikers were unlucky in front of the Cambodian U22 goal.
