U23 Vietnam received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for winning the U23 Southeast Asian Championship.
After winning the Southeast Asian U23 Football Championship for the third consecutive time, the Vietnam U23 team was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister in recognition of their efforts and dedication.
On the morning of August 1, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam U23 team attended a meeting and congratulation after their third consecutive victory in the Southeast Asian U23 Football Championship.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chairman of the Vietnam Olympic Committee; leaders of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training; Vietnam Football Federation, along with the entire coaching staff and players of the Vietnam U23 team.

In an intimate and emotional atmosphere, Minister Nguyen Van Hung sent warm congratulations from the Party, State and Prime Minister leaders to the entire team.
He assessed that the U23 Southeast Asian Championship is a highly competitive playground with the participation of 10 countries in the region, therefore, winning the championship, especially on away field, is not an easy achievement.
The Minister acknowledged the team's thorough and careful preparation throughout the journey, and emphasized that victory was not only the result of a tournament but also the result of a professional and elaborate training process.
According to him, this victory has created a positive ripple effect in society, arousing faith in the bright future of Vietnamese football.

The Minister called the players “hardworking, diligent, and patient bees” who contributed to the “sweet fruit” of today. He also advised the team to continue to maintain their aspirations, not to be complacent with victory, and to always remember the spirit of “not being arrogant in victory, not being discouraged in defeat”, a core value of the Vietnamese people.
Authorized by the Prime Minister, Minister Nguyen Van Hung awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to the team and 24 individuals with outstanding contributions.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also awarded 5 Certificates of Merit to outstanding members of the team.
In particular, the Vietnam Olympic Committee decided to award 500 million VND to the Vietnam U23 team to recognize their impressive achievements at this year's tournament.

Speaking at the meeting, head coach Kim Sang-sik was moved to express his honor at being welcomed by the Minister and shared the great joy when the team received a congratulatory letter from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh right after the thrilling victory over U23 Indonesia in the final match.
He expressed his deep gratitude to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnam Football Federation and the fans who have always stood by the team.
The Korean coach emphasized that the thorough preparation of the Vietnam Football Federation is the foundation for the team's impressive achievements. He considered this championship a strong motivation to move towards two big goals in the near future: the Asian U23 qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.

President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan highly appreciated the indomitable fighting spirit of the U23 Vietnam players. He especially emphasized the difference in this championship: The team not only overcame opponents on neutral ground but also won against the home team, a great challenge in terms of mentality and courage.
President Tran Quoc Tuan affirmed that the Federation has a thorough and scientific preparation plan to aim for the best results in the U23 Asian qualifiers and SEA Games 33, with the goal of participating in the final match./.
