(Baonghean.vn) - Although they quickly won tickets to the quarter-finals after two consecutive wins against U23 Kuwait (3-1) and U23 Malaysia (2-0), the playing style of U23 Vietnam still did not make domestic fans feel truly satisfied.

For the first time in the history of participating in the U23 Asian Cup, U23 Vietnam has had such an impressive start. However, objectively speaking, in both of the above victories, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team were "given" very delicious opportunities by their opponents.

Striker Bui Vi Hao's double in the match against U23 Kuwait was due to a mistake by goalkeeper Abdulrahman Marzouq. Similarly, the penalty awarded in the match against U23 Malaysia was a "gift" from centre-back Ubaidullah Shamsul after an unnecessary foul on Bui Vi Hao.

Observing the last 2 matches, it can be seen that the U23 Vietnam attack has not shown the necessary sharpness and efficiency. Apart from Nguyen Van Tung's goal in the match against U23 Kuwait, U23 Vietnam has not had any other perfect coordination situation.

Compared to the attack, the defense is even more worrying. The 3-center-back system that coach Hoang Anh Tuan built is still not operating smoothly and there are mistakes in every match. Specifically, in the match with U23 Kuwait, it was Nguyen Ngoc Thang, and in the match with U23 Malaysia, it was Luong Duy Cuong.

Fortunately, the strikers of U23 Kuwait and U23 Malaysia were not cold and precise enough in their finishing moves. Besides, we cannot fail to mention the excellence of Quan Van Chuan and Le Nguyen Hoang. Otherwise, U23 Vietnam would have conceded more than 1 goal.

The next opponents of U23 Vietnam are U23 Uzbekistan and most likely U23 Saudi Arabia, the defending champion. To achieve positive results, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team must quickly overcome their shortcomings and at the same time fully develop their inherent abilities.

The final match of Group D between U23 Vietnam and U23 Uzbekistan will take place at 10:30 p.m. on April 24. The losing team will have to face U23 Saudi Arabia (first in Group C) in the quarter-finals. Obviously, both U23 Vietnam and U23 Uzbekistan do not want to be the second-placed team in Group D./.
