Vietnam U23 and Vietnam Women's Teams proposed to be awarded Third Class Labor Medal

With outstanding achievements at the recent 31st SEA Games, the Vietnam U23 team and the Vietnam women's team were proposed to be awarded the Third Class Labor Medal.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh has also just signed Document No. 476/TTr-TTg dated May 27, 2022, submitting to the President to award: Second-class Labor Medal to 4 individuals; Third-class Labor Medal to 2 groups and 19 individuals who have had excellent performance, winning Gold Medals at the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) held in Vietnam in 2022.

Four outstanding athletes nominated for the Second Class Medal include: Nguyen Huy Hoang, Tran Hung Nguyen (swimming), Nguyen Thi Huong (canoeing), Nguyen Thi Oanh (athletics).

The national U23 men's football team and the national women's football team were presented with the Third Class Labor Medal by the President for their outstanding performance and winning the Gold Medal at the 31st SEA Games.

U23 Vietnam suffered a heavy defeat in coach Gong Oh Kyun's first match.

The Vietnam U23 team lost 0-3 to the UAE in a closed match on the night of May 28. This was also Coach Gong Oh Kyun's first match with the Vietnam U23 team.

This was a private match so other than the result, nothing was announced. According to the investigation, U23 Vietnam lost 3 goals in the 12th, 42nd and 68th minutes.

Coach Gong Oh Kyun used a 4-3-3 formation for both halves.
