U23 Vietnam suffered a heavy loss in the second match at Doha Cup

U23 Vietnam continues to reveal many weaknesses under Troussier.

The 0-3 loss to U23 Iraq showed many limitations of the team.U23 Vietnam. In particular, the obvious weakness comes from the defensive system of Mr. Troussier's students. Besides, the attacking front of U23 Vietnam has not created any breakthrough combinations. However, after the match, the French coach was still optimistic and considered it a necessary loss for his students to mature in the following matches.

Going into the second match of the Doha Cup, many spectators were looking forward to a change in the playing style of U23 Vietnam. And the solution that Mr. Troussier proposed that the spectators could immediately see came from refreshing the personnel in the starting lineup.

In the second half, UAE deployed more diverse attacks and that was when U23 Vietnam revealed many weaknesses. In particular, the organization of the anti-high ball of Troussier's students left many worries for fans. The first goal conceded by U23 Vietnam in the 53rd minute showed that. With the strength of physique, Ysaer Hassan of U23 UAE made a high jump to easily head the ball into Huy Hoang's net. By the 65th minute, the score was raised to 2-0 for UAE. The goal was made from a beautiful curling shot by captain Mohamoud.

After the goal, Coach Troussier decided to change the personnel. Quoc Viet and Van Khang were sent onto the field. Immediately, the midfielder from Viettel created a highlight with a volley from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball went a bit high over the goal. However, that was only a weak light that the U23 Vietnam attack created in the second half. And it was not too surprising when in the 83rd minute, Troussier's team received the third goal. From a corner kick, Mohammed Yousef jumped high to head the ball to increase the score to 3-0 for the home team.

Even in the final minutes of the match, U23 Vietnam lost another goal. The goal belonged to Abdulla Alraessi of U23 UAE.

Unable to score a consolation goal, U23 Vietnam accepted defeat with a score of 0-4. Coach Troussier and his team will have one more match at the U23 Doha Cup 2023./.
