U9 Song Lam Nghe An and solutions to prevent age fraud

Recently, when participating in the 2023 National U11 Tournament, U11Lam River Nghe Angot into trouble over age fraud suspicions. This has greatly affected the competitive mentality of the young players from Nghe An.

After the above scandals, when U9 Song Lam Nghe An participated in the 2023 National U9 Tournament, the Board of Directors of Nghe An Club proposed many solutions to avoid cheating on player age.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nghia - Deputy General Director of Song Lam Nghe An Club, Director of Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center affirmed that the club is always open-minded and wants to prove its integrity when participating in youth tournaments.

Ahead of the 2023 National U9 Tournament, Song Lam Nghe An has reviewed, verified, and re-evaluated the records of all U9 players. In particular, in order to avoid personnel lawsuits between teams during the tournament, Song Lam Nghe An has come up with an optimal solution so that this problem does not happen again as before.

Mr. Nghia said: “After we selected the U9 children who were qualified to compete in the 2023 National U9 Tournament, Song Lam Nghe An Club collected all the children's documents including original birth certificates, school records, confirmation papers from local authorities, identification codes, family commitments...

After that, we sent it to the Department of Justice and asked the department to check and verify the accuracy of the above records. When the records are definitely valid, the players will be registered to compete in the 2023 National U9 Tournament. Through this method, we want to prove that the personnel work at U9 Song Lam Nghe An is completely transparent, to create a comfortable and confident mentality for the players when participating in the tournament."

The Toyota Cup 2023 National U9 Football Tournament takes place from August 12 to 22 at the Bac Ninh Province Multi-purpose Gymnasium. The tournament is jointly organized by the Vietnam Football Federation, the Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper, and the Bac Ninh Provincial Youth Union. There are 16 teams participating in the tournament: Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, T&T Bac Giang, Kelme Quang Ninh, HYS Hanoi, Hanoi Club, Hai Phong, Viet Hung Thanh Hoa, Song Lam Nghe An, Dak Nong, Kon Tum, Binh Phuoc, PSFC Gia Lai, Luxcom Ngoc Hung, Thuan An Binh Duong, Van Tam Dong Nai. The teams are divided into 4 groups by draw, competing in a format, selecting the two teams with the best results in each group to compete in the quarterfinals. The winning teams in the quarterfinals will compete in the semi-finals and select the 2 winning teams in the semi-finals to compete in the final.

Participating in this year's season, U9 Song Lam Nghe An under the guidance of coach Nguyen Tien Quang is placed in group A with the teams Bac Ninh, T&T Bac Giang, Luxcom Ngoc Hung.

In the opening match on August 12, U9 Song Lam Nghe An affirmed their superior strength when they won 5-0 against U9 Luxcom Ngoc Hung, with goals from Nguyen Huu Thien An, Phan Bao Duy, Thai Huy Thach, and Phan Doan Tri.

After the home team won, coach Nguyen Tien Quang shared: “After a serious and systematic training process, the children entered the tournament with complete confidence. In the opening match, the young players from Nghe An brought into play many strengths, thereby having a convincing performance. I highly appreciate the children's fighting spirit. After the victory against U9 Luxcom Ngoc Hung, the children are very excited and will be determined to achieve positive results in the next matches."

This is only the third time the National U9 Tournament has been held. In the previous two seasons, U9 Song Lam Nghe An won the championship, thereby affirming that Song Lam Nghe An always maintains the tradition of training youth football in the country.
