Hung Nguyen District People's Committee responded to the issue raised by the newspaper
(Baonghean) - Nghe An Newspaper No. 9814 published on April 24, 2014, in the Hotline Information section, reported that residents of Hamlet 9, Hung Yen Nam Commune, Hung Nguyen District are living in a seriously polluted environment due to emissions from the production process of an oil processing plant located in the area. After inspection and verification, on May 12, 2014, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen District issued Official Dispatch No. 339/UBND-TNMT in response as follows: At the time of inspection (April 24, 2014): Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan's waste oil recycling facility was not operating; at the same time, the inspection team did not detect any discharge causing pollution to the surrounding environment; the inspection of the deserted water surface area located northeast of the recycling facility did not detect dead fish or emissions as reported. According to Mr. Xuan's report, the facility has stopped recycling waste oil since April 5, 2014.
Through checking the documents, it is shown that: On October 1, 2012, Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan signed a business cooperation contract No. 08/HDGVDT with Nghe An Environmental Treatment Joint Stock Company to jointly invest in building a waste oil recycling facility for business, by purchasing waste oil and lubricants to recycle into industrial fuel oil D1. Nghe An Environmental Treatment Joint Stock Company was granted a Business Registration Certificate by the Business Registration Office - Department of Planning and Investment of Nghe An province on May 7, 2009 - business code: 2901070574. According to the monitoring results of the first 6 months of 2014 by the environmental monitoring consulting unit, most of the indicators are within the allowable limits of Vietnamese Standards.
Currently, the District People's Committee has also asked Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan to stop recycling to check some related issues.
