Yen Thanh District People's Committee handles the issue raised in the newspaper

(Baonghean)- Nghe An Newspaper No. 9360 published on March 23, 2013 reported that "for many months now, hundreds of households along the road to the quarries in Len Co, the section passing through Dong Hoa, Dong Nhan, Dong Xuan and Dong Trung hamlets of Dong Thanh commune have had to suffer from dust caused by vehicles transporting quarries and vehicles of construction units on the Dong Thanh - Quang Thanh raw material road, Khe Chua road...", Yen Thanh District People's Committee has directed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to conduct an inspection, respond to Nghe An Newspaper and advise on measures to handle the above situation.

After conducting inspection and handling, on April 10, 2013, Yen Thanh District People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 301/UBND.TN to Nghe An Newspaper as follows:

Khe Chua traffic road passing through Dong Hoa, Dong Nhan, Dong Xuan and Dong Trung hamlets of Dong Thanh commune is under the construction contract of Minh Quang Company Limited. Up to now, the project is still in the stage of ground construction, preparing to pour asphalt. In the past time, on this road, the situation of vehicles transporting construction materials and covering vehicles transporting rocks and gravel from Len Co quarry (not Len Co as reported by the Newspaper) causing air pollution due to dust, falling rocks and gravel, affecting the surrounding people and traffic participants on the road is real.

To continue handling the air pollution caused by dust on the above route, the District People's Committee requests the Dong Thanh Commune People's Committee and related units to implement the following contents:

a) People's Committee of Dong Thanh commune:

- Continue to monitor and direct coordination with units operating in mineral exploitation at Len Co quarry (Thanh Nam Company Limited, Dong Thanh Company Limited, 369 Industrial Joint Stock Company), and road construction units to implement measures to limit dust pollution on Khe Chua road under construction.

- Strengthen inspection and handling of vehicles carrying oversized and overloaded loads, and those that do not take protective measures during the transportation of construction materials, causing them to spill onto the road, affecting the environment and people and vehicles traveling on the above routes.

b) Mineral operating units at Len Co quarry:

- Thanh Nam Co., Ltd., Dong Thanh Co., Ltd., 369 Industrial Joint Stock Company strictly implements commitments on environmental protection measures in production activities and contributes financial support to water the road surface, limiting dust pollution until the traffic road construction is completed.

- Regularly remind drivers of vehicles transporting gravel from quarries to take measures to cover materials during transportation to avoid spilling materials onto the road surface.

c) Road construction unit:

- Minh Quang Company Limited implements its commitments on environmental protection during the project construction process. Actively participates and coordinates with local authorities and mineral exploitation units at Len Co quarry to implement measures to reduce dust pollution on the construction route.

Overcoming difficulties, actively speeding up construction progress, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, contributing to limiting dust pollution.

Yen Thanh District People's Committee requests Dong Thanh Commune People's Committee, mineral exploitation units at Len Co quarry, and Khe Chua traffic route construction unit to strictly implement the above contents.
