(Baonghean)On the hotline information on August 9, 2012, Nghe An Newspaper reported that from early morning until about 9:00 a.m. on August 7, dozens of public high-pressure lamps along National Highway 48, passing through Hoa Hieu Ward and Kim Tan Ward, Thai Hoa Town, were turned on at night and were still brightly lit the next day...
Upon receiving the above information, the Standing Committee of Thai Hoa City Party Committee directed the People's Committee of Hoa Hieu Ward to inspect and clarify. Based on the inspection, the People's Committee of Hoa Hieu Ward issued Document No. 42/UBND dated August 10, 2012 to respond to Nghe An Newspaper as follows:
Thai Hoa town has 4 wards and 6 communes, including 4 wards: Hoa Hieu, Long Son, Quang Tien, Quang Phong; The town does not have Kim Tan ward as the newspaper mentioned, but only Kim Tan block in Hoa Hieu ward.
Regarding the public lighting system along the roads in the ward, the ward People's Committee said that this system is all installed with automatic systems, operating according to a specific plan with the coordination between the Urban Management Department of Thai Hoa Town and the People's Committee of Hoa Hieu Ward and the professional staff directly managing it. During the operation, there were some roads that the newspaper reported were burned, short-circuited, and damaged equipment. Therefore, on August 7, 2012, the People's Committee of Thai Hoa Town established a team to inspect the current situation for repair. During that time, the team turned on the electricity for inspection according to technical requirements.
Thus, the information that readers reported that the street lighting system in the ward was on during the day (August 7) coincided with the time when the Town People's Committee was conducting technical inspections and surveys for repairs, not that the locality turned on the lights during the day, leading to electricity waste as people reported and reminded.
