Nghe An Provincial People's Committee organized the second support to support people affected by storm No. 3

On the afternoon of August 5, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a regular meeting for July 2025. Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired and directed the meeting.

Co-chairing were comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee: Nguyen Van De, Hoang Phu Hien.

At the meeting, in addition to discussing and giving opinions on many important issues regarding the socio-economic development situation and direction and administration, the Provincial People's Committee organized a second donation and support to share with people affected by storm and storm circulation No. 3.

Responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, members of the Provincial People's Committee directly contributed to join hands to support people in flood-affected areas to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.

Storm No. 3 and its circulation at the end of July caused particularly serious damage to property and infrastructure in many communes in western Nghe An, with total estimated damage reaching VND3,767 billion (updated to August 5).

The most serious damage was to housing, amounting to VND1,545 billion, with 450 houses collapsed, swept away or completely buried; 5,426 houses were deeply flooded, with damaged and lost property; 1,601 other houses were affected by landslides and floodwaters.

The transport system suffered heavy losses, totaling about VND1,390 billion. Specifically, 16 bridges were washed away or severely damaged; 9 suspension bridges no longer existed after the flood. On national and provincial highways, there were 14 landslides, 8 roadbeds were completely broken; more than 52 km of rural roads were also eroded, cutting off many residential areas.

Despite the great devastation, human losses were minimized, with only four deaths recorded in Nam Can, Bac Ly and Nhon Mai communes.

Compared to the scale of the flood, which was assessed as the most severe in many years, this result clearly reflects the effectiveness of on-site response and direction according to the 2-level local government model that Nghe An is implementing.
