The Provincial People's Committee implements the tasks of the grassroots democracy regulations 2014.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 26th, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to implement the grassroots democracy regulations in 2014 and to review the results of the past five years of Ordinance 34/2007/PL-UBTVQH11 on the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations in communes, wards, and towns. Comrades Nguyen Xuan Duong – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Ho Phuc Hop – Provincial Party Committee member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, chaired the conference.
Reports at the conference and presentations from various units showed that, after 5 years of implementing the Regulations on Democracy in the People's Courts under Decree 34 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the people's right to self-governance has been significantly enhanced, fostering unity and trust among cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people; cadres are close to the people, respect and accept the people's contributions, and improve awareness, responsibility, and effectiveness in gradually overcoming bureaucratic evils; the motto "The people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect" continues to be put into practice, creating high consensus in society and strengthening people's trust.
Through this, the combined strength and unity of all strata of the people are fostered in implementing patriotic emulation movements and revolutionary action movements for socio-economic development and cultural life building. Most notably, the effective implementation of grassroots democracy has unleashed internal resources and mobilized the people's contributions in money, materials, and labor to build socio-economic infrastructure in each locality, contributing to the rapid transformation of rural and urban areas in the province. The lives of all strata of the people in the province have improved in all aspects. Thanks to the effective implementation of grassroots democracy, the number of complaints and denunciations in the province has also decreased.

Delivering a guiding speech at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong highly appreciated the implementation of grassroots democracy by localities, organizations, agencies, and units in the past period, noting its strong impact on economic development, political and social stability, and national defense and security in the province. He also emphasized the crucial importance of implementing grassroots democracy, therefore requiring strengthened leadership from Party committees, government, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations in its implementation, focusing on the implementation of Political Bureau Directive 30, Secretariat Conclusion 65, and Ordinance 34 on the implementation of grassroots democracy. This should be linked to the implementation of Ordinance 34 in conjunction with Central Resolution 4 "Some urgent issues in Party building today" and Political Bureau Directive 03 on continuing to promote the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's moral example. Effectively perform the supervisory and social critique role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other mass organizations, strengthen anti-corruption efforts... Effectively implement action programs associated with the implementation of Resolution 26 of the Politburo on Nghe An; continue to effectively implement democratic practices in communes, wards, towns, agencies, and enterprises...

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 25 collectives for their outstanding achievements in the 5 years of implementing Ordinance 34, and 17 collectives received Certificates of Merit for effectively implementing grassroots democracy in 2014.
