A copy of the document on the initiation of the case was posted on Facebook by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Yuriy Lutsenko, saying that this is a case of "high treason against the Motherland".
Earlier, The New York Times reported that a week before the resignation of former US President Michael Flynn, he presented a plan to lift sanctions against Russia. According to the newspaper, a major role in drafting the petition belonged to Ukrainian parliamentarian Andrey Artemenko.
Among the points of the plan is to hold a referendum across Ukraine on the possibility of leasing Crimea to Russia for a period of 30 to 50 years. Commenting on the information, Russian President's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin did not know anything about this plan. In addition, Peskov noted that Russia cannot lease its own territory.
