Ukraine delivers final batch of tanks to Thailand
Thai military officials said on August 10 that the country's army had just received the remaining six tanks in a purchase contract from Ukraine signed in 2011.
The contract that Thailand signed with Ukraine includes a total of 49 tanks, worth 7.2 billion baht (equivalent to about 240 million USD). According to the agreement, all of these tanks were to be delivered in 2015, but due to the unstable situation in Ukraine in 2014, the number was not fully delivered.

Lieutenant General Kukiat Srinaka, Commander of the Thai 1st Army Corps, said the tanks delivered this time will undergo final inspection next week before being assigned to units.
The contract Thailand bought from Ukraine is for T-84 Oplot tanks with strong firepower and high mobility developed by the Khakiv Morozov Machine Building Institute.
This vehicle is equipped with a new generation of reactive explosive armor. In addition, it is also equipped with the Shtora defense system, which helps reduce the probability of being attacked by guided missiles. The T-84 Oplot is also considered by some weapons experts to be the most powerful tank line today.
