As the conflict with Russia shows no signs of abating, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 18 continued to extensively reform the country's security agency, dismissing 28 more officials.

According to the Ukrainian leader, a review of the Internal Security Service's personnel is underway and 28 officials have been fired due to "unsatisfactory work".

Previously, on July 17, President Zelensky suddenly fired the head of the Internal Security Service and the State Prosecutor General, citing widespread "treason" in both of these powerful agencies.

The biggest political sacking since the conflict erupted on February 24 is seen as aimed at strengthening President Zelensky's control over the military and security agencies.

Responding to the personnel changes in Ukraine, US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said the two governments are still in close contact. Washington will continue to work with Kiev on war crimes investigations and intelligence sharing. This is also part of the important efforts the US is making for Ukraine today./.
