Ukraine warns Europe not to participate in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, Ukrinform reported on the opinion of Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andrei Paruby.

"Because we know better than anyone that Russia can use the 'energy whip' to corrupt and influence the political elite," he added.
In addition, Mr. Parubiy also proposed that the US use Ukraine's gas transit system (GTS) to protect the country from the Russian threat.
"I myself propose that the Ukrainian gas transit system, which is currently the main transit element, should have a platform for joint use with our American colleagues. In this way, we will prevent Russia from having any way to implement its energy strategy to take control of the Ukrainian gas transit system," he explained.
