Is Ukraine preparing to launch a full-scale offensive in the east?
According to TASS, on December 25, Alexander Zakharchenko, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), claimed that the Kiev authorities were preparing a military offensive in eastern Ukraine.
Zakharchenko stated that the Kiev authorities are ready to break the negotiations in Minsk (Belarus) and launch an all-out attack on this unrecognized republic.

According to Zakharchenko, the recent closure of airports in major eastern cities such as Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk by the Ukrainian authorities is related to Kyiv's receipt of military aid from the West.
He also suggested that major battles were still ahead.
These three major airports were closed in mid-December. The Ukrainian aviation services agency announced that the airports were closed for security reasons.
However, some Ukrainian media outlets reported that these airports were being used to receive NATO military aid for the Ukrainian army.
