(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Chief of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has just said that the country has no plans to do anything related to membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the near future after the military bloc rejected Kiev's wish to join.

The statement was made by Mr. Zhovkva in an interview with the Financial Times on June 25. In addition, this close diplomatic adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky added that Kiev wants NATO's "New Strategic Concept" document to completely remove the mention of Russia as a partner of the bloc.
At the summit in Madrid (Spain) next week, NATO is expected to adopt a "New Strategic Concept" that sets out the alliance's policies and priorities for the next decade. The "New Strategic Concept" is expected to help the bloc regain its position and adapt to a changing world filled with both old and new threats.
Earlier, on March 15, during a meeting with the leaders of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), Ukrainian President Zelensky declared that it was time to admit that the country would not become a member of NATO./.
