Sharing with CNN, Republican candidate for Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Jim Jordan, affirmed that if elected, he will oppose aid to Ukraine.

According to Mr. Jordan, the main problem for the US is not Ukraine, but the border situation and the problem of crime on the streets of the country.

Analysts say that Mr. Jim Jordan's views on the issue of supporting Ukraine are much tougher than those of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

Mr. Jim Jordan is the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, a Republican from Ohio.

CNN also reported that, in this context, senior officials in the Joe Biden administration stated that the additional aid to Ukraine would be enough for “the next few weeks”. At that time, it became a serious concern for the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield.

Politico reports that officials in Ukraine are very concerned about future US aid to Kiev, following the removal of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

“We are in a state of panic. This is a disaster,” Verkhovna Rada deputy chairwoman Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze told Politico.

Politico commented that McCarthy’s dismissal left open any future support from Washington for Kiev. Although in public statements, Ukraine sought to downplay the impact of the US political crisis on Kiev. However, in private conversations, “fear and confusion reigned.”

“There is nothing good in this, we simply become hostages to the internal politics of the United States,” a leader of the Verkhovna Rada admitted.

The Speakership of the US House of Representatives is vacant after the body voted to remove Kevin McCarthy from office on October 3. The US House of Representatives is expected to be in recess for at least a week, during which time Congressman Patrick McHenry has been appointed as acting Speaker.

Former President Donald Trump was also unexpectedly nominated as Speaker of the US House of Representatives.
