On his personal Facebook account, Mr. Klimkin wrote: "A few days ago, in compliance with the procedure, I sent a letter to Mr. Ingibjorg Solrun Gisladottir - Director of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to request the deployment of a monitoring mission for the presidential election in Ukraine. Among other criteria, I also specified that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry will not accept applications from Russian observers to join this mission."

The Ukrainian presidential election is scheduled for March 31. At the end of December last year, the Central Election Commission of Ukraine made adjustments to the decree on polling stations, closing all polling stations in Russia. According to this decree, Ukrainian citizens living in Russia can exercise their right to vote at polling stations in Georgia, Kazakhstan and Finland./.
