"One of our main goals is to create a large energy hub in Ukraine, especially for storing gas from European countries," Minister Galushchenko said. The official said Ukraine has one of the largest underground gas storage facilities in Europe, with the capacity to store more than 30 billion cubic meters of gas. The official noted that Ukraine is now ready to supply its European partners with up to 15 billion cubic meters of underground gas storage.
Earlier in the day, Ukrtransgaz, the operator of gas storage facilities in Ukraine, was certified and confirmed its right to carry out gas storage operations in accordance with updated European Union rules.
