Ukraine urges EU and NATO to expand 'sanctions race' against Russia
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin has written to the leaders of the EU and NATO calling for sanctions against Russia. This was announced by the spokeswoman of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Ekaterina Zelenko.
“I brought a special document to the meeting. This is a letter from the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Mr. Pavel Klimkin, to the foreign ministers of the EU, NATO, G7 and other partner countries,” Ms. Zelenko said.
According to her, “the most important point is that with this letter, Ukraine officially calls on partner countries to expand the sanctions race.”
This escalation of Ukraine's reaction to Russia comes after on April 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree simplifying the procedure for granting citizenship to residents of certain regions of Donbass.
