Ukraine claims to have destroyed more than 20,000 Russian artillery pieces, attacked an oil plant 1,500 km away
The Ukrainian General Staff announced that Russia has lost a total of 20,013 artillery pieces since Moscow's forces launched a special military operation in Ukraine in February 2022.
According to Newsweek, in a statement on October 31, the Ukrainian General Staff said that since early morning on October 30 alone, Russia had lost a total of 58 artillery systems during the conflict.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet commented on the above information.
Artillery is an important weapon in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Kiev forces use a variety of artillery systems, including the US-made HIMARS High Mobility Artillery Rocket System. In addition, Ukraine has developed its own 155mm Bohdana self-propelled howitzer. President Volodymyr Zelensky said on October 30 that Ukraine is producing nearly 20 Bohdana howitzers per month.
The bulk of casualties across hundreds of miles of frontline in eastern and southern Ukraine are also often described as artillery-related.
In fact, artillery systems have always been high on the list of weapons that Kiev wants the West to support. However, the supply of ammunition to maintain the operation, and the usefulness of these systems, is a big problem for Ukraine.
Ukrainian UAV attacks Russian oil refinery 1,500 km from border
On October 31, Mr. Radiy Khabirov, head of Russia's Bashkortostan region, announced that Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attacked an oil refinery in the city of Ufa.
According to Mr. Khabirov, three Ukrainian UAVs fell on the refinery premises, including one UAV that fell into the refinery area, but only caused minor damage and no casualties were reported.
The Kyiv Independent reported that Ukraine has not commented on the above information.
This is the second time since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict that Ukrainian UAVs have attacked facilities in Bashkortostan, an area located about 1,500 km from the Ukrainian border.
Since this spring, Ukrainian forces have repeatedly launched UAV attacks aimed at damaging Russia's oil industry.
