Radicals threw stones at people who were celebrating the anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany. The thugs broke the windows of the bus and then disappeared, wrote Alexander Vilkul. According to him, the police were working at the scene, and he himself said he would personally control the investigation.
“This crime was committed by moral monsters. Hiding behind their hats, they attacked pensioners and people with children who came to pay tribute to the heroic deeds of our people who defeated fascism,” added MP Alexander Vilkul. He called for the restoration of order in the country and the punishment of the shameless thugs.
Earlier on May 9, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that over the past five years, Ukraine has been developing a scenario and ritual for celebrating Victory Day in World War II, bringing the country closer to common European traditions.
Mr Poroshenko stressed that Ukrainians had distanced themselves from the Kremlin's "victory". He added that victory in World War II was no reason to send the mummies of the "immortal regiment" around the world.
