In the final race that just ended, Bolt finished first with a time of 19.78 seconds. This result is equal to what he achieved in the semi-finals, but far behind his personal record at the 2008 Olympics (19.30 seconds) and the 2009 World Championship (19.19 seconds).
Compared to the 100m final, Bolt had a better start in the 200m. "Black Lightning" quickly took the lead and maintained his position until the finish line. At the moment of reaching the finish line, Bolt continued to turn to the camera to smile as a personal mark.
Having set a goal to break the record, Bolt was not too happy when he reached the finish line because he did not complete the plan. The superstar even frowned a bit because he was not satisfied with himself.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, Bolt reached 19.78 seconds even though he had a part of the race where he deliberately slowed down. At that time, the "black lightning" also had a moment of smiling and even chatted with the second-place athlete, Andre De Grasse, at the moment of preparing to cross the finish line.
Compared to the semi-final race, Andre De Grasse also had a lower result in the final. This athlete still finished second, but lost 20.02 seconds.
The bronze medal was won by French athlete Christophe Lemaitre. Lemaitre's time was 20.12 seconds.
