Central Inspection Committee in Da Nang announces conclusions on violations

On September 22, the Office of the Da Nang City Party Committee said that the Central Inspection Committee had worked at this agency to announce the inspection results when there were signs of violations against the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee and Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh, Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the City People's Committee Huynh Duc Tho.

According to the disciplinary process, after the inspection results are announced, individuals will self-criticize from the Party cell up, then submit to the competent authority for consideration and decision on disciplinary action.

Due to the above announcement by the Central Inspection Committee, on the same morning, Mr. Huynh Duc Tho canceled the public reception scheduled for the announcement earlier.

Previously, on September 18, the Central Inspection Committee announced the conclusion that the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee made a number of decisions without authority and against the law, related to allowing enterprises to use public land and implement projects; lax leadership, direction, lack of inspection and supervision in the field of land management and urban order in the city, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh was determined to have violated the principle of democratic centralism; chaired the review and decision of a number of personnel with signs of imposition; directly directed many specific tasks of the government; declared and used degrees not in accordance with regulations; received and used cars donated by enterprises and used 2 houses of enterprises...

Mr. Huynh Duc Tho is jointly responsible for the violations and shortcomings of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term; and is primarily responsible for the violations and shortcomings in land management and urban order...

The Central Inspection Commission determined that the violations and shortcomings of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh and Mr. Huynh Duc Tho were serious, negatively affecting the reputation of the Party organization and individuals, causing resentment among cadres, Party members and people, "to the point of requiring disciplinary action".
