The National Assembly Standing Committee approved the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units in Nghe An.
(Baonghean.vn) - The National Assembly Standing Committee has reviewed and approved the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province.
On the morning of December 17, at the 40th session, the National Assembly Standing Committee passed a Resolution on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province. Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan - Politburo member, National Assembly Chairwoman and Vice Chairwomen of the National Assembly chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee considered and decided on the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels in 11 provinces, including Nghe An province.
Accordingly, after listening to the Minister of Home Affairs present the report; the Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee presented the review report. Previously, on the morning of December 12, the National Assembly's Law Committee held its 24th plenary session to review the third phase of the project to rearrange commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province.
Nghe An has 480 commune-level administrative units, including 431 communes, 32 wards and 17 towns, of which 17 commune-level administrative units (14 communes, 3 towns) have 2 criteria on natural area and population size that have not reached 50% according to regulations.

According to information from the Nghe An province delegation attending the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed and voted to approve the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province.
Accordingly, Nghe An will rearrange 39/480 commune-level administrative units, including 16/17 units subject to mandatory rearrangement (Muong Xen town, Ky Son district has not been rearranged or merged in the period 2019 - 2021 due to some special reasons) and 4 units subject to encouraged rearrangement and 19 related adjacent units.
After the reorganization, 19 new commune-level administrative units were formed, reducing 20 units. Thus, Nghe An has 460 communes left.
* Que Phong district:
- Adjust 4.10 km2 of natural area, 1,024 people of Tien Phong commune, 17.88 km2 of natural area, 3,373 people of Muong Noc commune into Kim Son town; at the same time, merge the entire 37.08 km2 of natural area, 3,700 people of Que Son commune into Muong Noc commune.
*Xiangyang District:
-Establish Thach Giam town on the basis of merging 67.7 km2 of natural area and 3,900 people of Thach Giam commune and the entire 1.6 km2 of natural area and 3,700 people of Hoa Binh town;
- Adjust 8.82 km2 of natural area and 630 people of Thach Giam commune to Xa Luong commune.
- The remaining area and population of Thach Giam commune are merged into Tam Thai commune.
*Thanh Chuong District:
- Establish Dai Dong commune on the basis of merging the entire 3.0 km2 of natural area and 3,300 people of Thanh Tuong commune; the entire 6.47 km2 of natural area and 5,600 people of Thanh Van commune and the entire 6.36 km2 of natural area and 4,400 people of Thanh Hung commune. After establishment, Dai Dong commune has 15.83 km2 of natural area and a population of 13,300 people.
* Dien Chau district:
- Establish Minh Chau commune on the basis of merging the entire 4.41 km2 of natural area and 2,700 people of Dien Minh commune; the entire 4.59 km2 of natural area and 4,000 people of Dien Binh commune and the entire 8.15 km2 of natural area and 4,900 people of Dien Thang commune. After establishment, Minh Chau commune has 17.15 km2 of natural area and a population of 11,600 people.
* Nghi Loc District:
-Khanh Hop commune was established on the basis of merging the entire 3.8 km2 of natural area and 3,900 people of Nghi Hop commune and the entire 4.11 km2 of natural area and 5,200 people of Nghi Khanh commune. After establishment, Khanh Hop commune had 7.91 km2 of natural area and a population of 9,100 people.
* Nam Dan District:
-Trung Phuc Cuong commune was established on the basis of merging the entire 4.56 km2 of natural area and 2,700 people of Nam Phuc commune; the entire 7.4 km2 of natural area and 5,200 people of Nam Cuong commune and the entire 8.5 km2 of natural area and 6,200 people of Nam Trung commune. After establishment, Trung Phuc Cuong commune had 20.46 km2 of natural area and a population of 14,100 people.
- Establish Thuong Tan Loc commune on the basis of adjusting 4.1 km2 of natural area, 1,200 people of Nam Thuong commune; the entire 11.8 km2 of natural area, 3,900 people of Nam Tan commune and the entire 15.3 km2 of natural area, 6,200 people of Nam Loc commune. After establishment, Thuong Tan Loc commune has 31.2 km2 of natural area and a population of 11,300 people.
- Merge the entire 3.2 km2 of natural area and 700 people of Nam Thuong commune after adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Thuong Tan Loc commune and the entire 13.6 km2 of natural area and 13,000 people of Van Dien commune into Nam Dan town. After merging, Nam Dan town has 18.7 km2 of natural area and a population of 20,600 people.
* Thai Hoa Town:
- Merge the entire 10.8 km2 of natural area and 2,300 people of Nghia Hoa commune into Long Son ward. After the merger, Long Son ward has 16.3 km2 of natural area and a population of 7,200 people.
* Meaning of the Altar:
- Establishing Nghia Thanh commune on the basis of merging the entire 8.9 km2 of natural area and 2,400 people of Nghia Tan commune; the entire 7.24 km2 of natural area and 2,700 people of Nghia Thang commune and the entire 9.15 km2 of natural area and 4,000 people of Nghia Lien commune. After establishment, Nghia Thanh commune has 25.29 km2 of natural area and a population of 9,100 people.
* Hung Nguyen District:
- Establish Long Xa commune on the basis of merging the entire 3.4 km2 of natural area, 3,200 people of Hung Xa commune and the entire 4.5 km2 of natural area, 5,800 people of Hung Long commune. After establishment, Long Xa commune has 7.9 km2 of natural area and a population of 9,000 people.
- Establish Xuan Lam commune on the basis of merging the entire 6.8 km2 of natural area, 3,500 people of Hung Lam commune and the entire 4.3 km2 of natural area, 4,200 people of Hung Xuan commune. After establishment, Xuan Lam commune has 11.1 km2 of natural area and a population of 7,700 people.
- Establish Hung Thanh commune on the basis of merging the entire 4.3 km2 of natural area, 2,800 people of Hung Phu commune and the entire 3.2 km2 of natural area, 1,700 people of Hung Khanh commune. After establishment, Hung Thanh commune has 7.5 km2 of natural area and a population of 4,500 people.
- Establish Chau Nhan commune on the basis of merging the entire 6.5 km2 of natural area, 3,300 people of Hung Nhan commune and the entire 4.6 km2 of natural area, 4,400 people of Hung Chau commune. After establishment, Chau Nhan commune has 11.1 km2 of natural area and a population of 7,700 people.
- Establish Hung Nghia commune on the basis of merging the entire 3.9 km2 of natural area, 3,100 people of Hung Tien commune and the entire 4.5 km2 of natural area, 3,800 people of Hung Thang commune. After establishment, Hung Nghia commune has 8.4 km2 of natural area and a population of 6,900 people.
