(Baonghean.vn) - Before the heroic martyrs, the delegates pledged to continue to foster, consolidate and further develop the loyal friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to be forever green and everlasting.

During the visit and working session in Nghe An, on December 6, a high-ranking delegation of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction led by Comrade Xay Xom Phon Pho Vi Han - Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction came to offer flowers and incense to the heroic martyrs at the Vietnam - Laos International Cemetery (Anh Son district).

Also attending were Ms. Hoang Thi Hanh - Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee and members of the working delegation. On the side of Nghe An province, there were Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

The Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery is located in Anh Son town (Anh Son district), and is one of the works representing the spirit of solidarity and special traditional friendship between the two brotherly countries of Vietnam and Laos.

This is the resting place of more than 11,000 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who died on the battlefields of neighboring countries. To remember and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who fought side by side with the army and people to protect the two countries, our Party and State built this special cemetery as a resting place for the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who fought and died in Laos.

Currently, the cemetery has about 6,900 graves with unknown names and hometowns and nearly 600 graves with names but unknown hometowns.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation observed a minute of silence to express gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fell for the cause of fighting for independence and freedom, and for the noble and steadfast international friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Before the heroic martyrs, the delegates pledged to continue to foster, consolidate and further develop the everlasting friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos that President Ho Chi Minh and the late President Kaysone Phomvihane had worked hard to build.

On the same day, a high-ranking delegation from the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction visited and learned about the high-tech agricultural production model of TH Group and the 1/5 Fruit Tree Agricultural Cooperative in Nghia Binh commune, Nghia Dan district.
