V.League is about to have a big sponsor with long-term commitment
According to the revelation of the leader of Vietnam Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), the number one tournament in Vietnam - V.League will soon announce a new sponsor in the near future.
VPF Board Chairman Tran Anh Tu said: "We have reached an agreement with a new partner to replace Nuti Cafe whose contract expires after the 2018 season. At this point, I can only reveal that this is a reputable company, they are willing to spend a large amount of money and especially sponsor for up to 5 consecutive years."
If the deal goes through, it will be the longest sponsorship deal in the history of the tournament. However, the specific figure has not been disclosed yet.
"For many reasons, we cannot announce the sponsor or financial information yet, but will notify the press as soon as possible," Mr. Tu added.
While V.League can rest assured with strong sponsorship, the other two tournaments, the National Cup and First Division, are still at a standstill. VPF is currently busy looking for a suitable partner for the upcoming season.
According to the schedule, V.League 2019 will open on February 23. A week before that, the 2018 National Super Cup match between Hanoi FC and B.Binh Duong will take place (February 16). The National First Division will take place on April 6. The National Cup will start on March 31.
